1. Who we are

ToolVera (“we”, “us”) provides free online tools for text, developers, images, calculators, and productivity. This policy explains what information we process and why.

2. Browser-side tools

The majority of tools process input locally in your browser. We do not upload, store, or inspect the text, files, or passwords you type into those tools unless a specific tool page clearly states that a network request is required.

3. Information we may collect

• Newsletter: email address if you subscribe.
• Contact messages: name, email, subject, and message when you contact us.
• Account / admin: email and profile details if you sign in (for example via Google OAuth when enabled).
• Usage analytics: anonymized tool usage events (tool slug, approximate time, optional hashed IP / user agent) to understand which tools are popular. This does not include the content you process in tools.
• Technical logs: standard server logs (IP, user agent, request path) for security and reliability.

4. Cookies and local storage

We may use:

• Session / authentication cookies when you sign in to the admin area.
• Theme preference stored locally in your browser (light / dark).
• Essential cookies required to operate the site securely.

5. Advertising

When ads are enabled, third-party providers such as Google AdSense may set cookies and collect usage data according to their own policies. You can manage ad personalization through Google’s ad settings. Until ads are enabled on ToolVera, no ad network scripts are loaded for that purpose.

6. How we use information

• Operate and improve the tools catalog and site performance
• Respond to contact messages and support requests
• Send newsletter updates you opted into
• Secure admin access and prevent abuse (including rate limits)
• Understand aggregate tool popularity

7. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with infrastructure providers (hosting, database, email delivery) solely to run the service, or when required by law.

8. Retention

Newsletter and contact records are kept while relevant to the purpose you submitted them for, or until you ask us to delete them. Aggregated analytics may be retained longer in anonymized form.

9. Your choices

• Use most tools without creating an account
• Unsubscribe from the newsletter anytime at /newsletter/unsubscribe
• Request access to or deletion of personal data you provided
• Clear cookies and site data in your browser settings

10. Children

ToolVera is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
